Forty years ago yesterday I made my mom a mom and my grandma a grandma just in time for Mother’s Day. To celebrate I spent the day doing things I love. I slept in, well until 6. I went to the gym and when I scanned my card I was sang to. Which caused everyone around me to wish me a Happy Birthday. I have been wanting to try some raw edge applique so I did it. I had asked Jacquie for some tips a while back. So armed with her good advice I made this little wall hanging for my Grandma. I hope she will like it for Mother’s Day. It says, “Grandmas are antique little girls” I went shopping at the fabric store and found a few fun things.
At the local thrift shop I found this book for $1. I have always wanted to try a bargello quilt. When hubby saw this he really liked the quilts. So maybe one for him is in the future.
We went to dinner. Very, very yummy. Probably ate too much. To be truthful there is no probably about it. I did. Hope all you antique little girls and not so antique little girls have a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all! Em
Happy Mother’s Day to you too! Love your little quilt – so cute! Sounds like a great way to spend a Birthday 🙂
I have that book but I paid a lot more than a dollar for it. Lol. I tried one but it’s just not my style. I ended up with unfinished place mats.
I had that bargello book at one time. And I do think a quilt made from a pattern in the book would be something nice for your husband!
Your little project for Grandma is oh so cute!
That looks like and awesome Bargello Book!!! Love the one on the front cover! 😎
Love your little sewing machine name tag! Very cute! 😎
Your Friday Block Party blocks are great! Love the fabrics! Very cheerful! 😎
Happy belated birthday and happy early Mother’s Day.
Happy Birthday! And Happy Mother’s Day! I love your little wall hanging. I’m sure your grandma will too!
she’s darling, em! you did a great job!! a quick question…what is that blue button fabric? i used to have it, but i used it up and i’ve forgotten what it is. i’d love to get some more.
That is just the cutest stitchery, and I do love what it says – I feel like an antique at times, and nice to know I am a little girl at the same time.
