My friend and neighbor, Cheryl asked me to take part in this fun blog tour. Cheryl is an amazing quilter. She has published two books. If you have not visited her blog you should. She has some pretty great stuff their with lots of eye candy.
For my part of the tour I get to share a few answers to these questions.
1. What am I working on? Well, a lot of things. The next scrap squad quilt is in process. You’ll have to wait for pictures of that. Samples for classes this weekend. And in my spare time. HA! HA! That’s funny. More like when I’m being naughty and put off what I should be working on for what I want to work on. That’s when I pull out my Blue Bird Flour Sack quilt.
2. How does my work differ from others in its genre? I like to pull from the past and give things a modern twist. I love anything scrappy. I take the Pirate’s of the Caribbean approach to quilting. In that the rules are more like guidelines. So a little wonkiness is perfectly acceptable.
33. Why do I write and create what I do? I love the creative process. Letting an idea evolve in my head. Trying new things and seeing how they work. Besides if I don’t use all these scraps and bits of fabric they might just take over.
4. How does my creative process work? Most often it’s because I can’t put a lid on one of my scrap bins. When that happens I have to figure out a way to use up those precious little bits. Heaven forbid that they should fall on the floor, get lost or dirty, and remain homeless forever.
Next week make sure you check out
What a great post, thank you for sharing. We do share the love for little scraps, definetly.
Greetings,
Sylvia
Very fun to read! When I think of your blog I always think 'scraps'!
love that, those lids do seem to be a devil at times dont they and no longer fit the boxes we use lol
