Last year I asked if anyone wanted to exchange blocks with me throughout the year. Each of us making two blocks one for us to keep and one to share. We each chose a favorite color and those two colors would be our color scheme for the blocks. Karen and Mary graciously accepted. And the BFF exchange began. Now twelve months later we come to a close. The blocks below are my final blocks. They are a little late but will be on their way today. I used the little girls from my Snips & Snails meets Sugar and Spice pattern. I felt our BFF quilt need to have some best friends on it. Karen and I chose red and yellow. All the blocks with the little pieces and precision piecing are Karen’s. She does things I would never dare try. So I’m thrilled that I get to have these sweet blocks in my quilt.
Mary and I chose blue and yellow. What a great combination of blocks we have. I love the friendship flower she made. Her sailboat and house are also favorites.
Thank you ladies for playing along with me. I will miss getting your blocks each month. But I know the friendship we have created will last forever. You guys are awesome.
Great blocks and what a fun swap.
What a great idea to exchange blocks in a combo of your two favorite colors. Love it!
What a fun idea. Your friendship blocks are adorable!
that is a great idea, your blocks are nice. I would put the two friends block in the middle of your quilt though. They are a great focal point.
Wish I had more time to swap like that.
What a fun idea. You are brave to commit to two per month with all the other things you do.
What a great swap idea – I think getting blocks you didn't have to sew is as good as sitting down to a meal you didn't have to cook!
What a perfect closing block, Em. I am so glad to have participated in the swap with you and I look forward to finishing up the quilt. I will always remember the fun it was to make the blocks and look forward to seeing the block arrive from your end. Thanks for a wonderful year.
What fun!! Now of course, I have to go find your pattern with the two little girls …. adorable!
Great swap idea! It's always nice when someone makes something to share. Kind of like having someone make you a coffee in the morning.
Waht a fun swap. I have sampler quilt on my long list of "I want to do". Pretty colors.
Very nice blocks you received and I do love your friends blocks.
What a lovely swap Em!!! All the blocks are simply wonderful!!! What great keepsakes… 😎
