My entry for the Fall Blogger’s Quilt Festival is my “I’m a Maverick Star”I love this quilt for so many reasons. First I loved making it. It was mindless healing sewing for me at a time when I really needed it. Second I love it’s scrappiness. Scrappy quilts are my favorite kind of quilts. You just can’t go wrong with a scrappy quilt. All the fabrics and memories sewn together into a fabric hug. And this actually made a small dent in my scraps. In fact, I used up all my precut 2 1/2″ light colored squares. And finally I love that I know it is making someone very happy. I made it for an eight year old little boy with spina bifada. I wanted him to have something he could take with him when he had to go to the hospital for surgeries and treatments. He was so happy when I gave it to him. He has decorated his whole room around it. He is an inspiration. A true Maverick Star.
Now head on over to Amy’s to see all the other Quilt Festival entries.
I love your scrappy star quilt. It's beautiful and how special you made it for a special little boy. Giving quilts away is little wrapping them in a warm hug. 🙂
It is great!
It is a beautiful quilt and it sounds like it has the perfect owner. What a thrill to see him so pleased with it.
You have a talent for putting scraps together to look great! I'm sure the owner loves it:)

I have never made a scrappy quilt, but I love looking at all the great ideas you have. They are very inspiring.
