I enlisted the help of my friends Suzy and Ruthie to baste my double wedding ring quilt. They think I’m crazy to do this on my Bernina.
And they may be right about the crazy part. But with the table behind my machine and another to the side it I’m not wrestling at all. No shoulders in my ears. And the only reason I’m a little sore is because I tripped up the stairs the other day. Just call me grace.
That is going to be spectacular, Grace!!!
you're so right — it's the tables and how they support the quilt that make this work!
Looking fab 🙂
Wow! Props, woman! I can't wait to see the finished product.
So pretty. Love the colors with the grey.
Not much room to work with your Bernina but I did the same too. Did you spray players together or do you just pin them?
The last big quilt I did on my Bernina was a pain, literally, then I rearranged a bit and put a table perpendicular to my sewing table for support, that's helped a lot. I love that grey background with those blocks.
I see that you use your rubber gloves to help you grip the fabric as you quilt it. Try using cotton garden gloves with the little rubber grippers on the palm and fingers. Your hands won't perspire. Your quilt is spectacular, I hope you will bring it when you visit Southridge Guild on Nov 21
Looking fabulous! Enjoy!
