You may remember by in July when I returned from girls camp with my DD I pulled out my green, blue, and yellow scrap bins. Cut up a bunch of strips and made some quarter log cabins. Well, let me tell you I had a lot of fun playing with those blocks. In fact I spent hours playing with arrangement ideas in EQ. (My arm dosen’t get as tired reaching up and moving things around as it does when I do this on the design wall. Well this is the layout I came up with.
Because of my work on the scrap squad I decided to share my idea with Diane. She shared it with Carolyn who asked if I could make one for their magazine, Quiltmaker. Well of course! So a sister quilt was born. Carolyn chose, Vintage Picnic by Bonnie and Camille for Moda. I love that it still has those lovely greens and blues I enjoyed at camp.
Each sister is unique, one scrap happy, laid back, and a homebody.
The other organized, professional and well traveled.
Kind of reminds me of me and my sister. Linking up with Sarah, Cynthia and Amanda Jean to celebrate these two sisters.
WOW! Those are some great Log Cabin quilts!! I love all the designs and colors! They sort of look like crazy Log Cabins!
I love these quilts!
Love these quilts and the descriptions are perfect! LOL
Two lovely quilts with beautiful colours. And I really love the quote on your header. Really true for me.
I love the colours you have used.
I love them both and what a great pattern!
Wow! These are wonderful! Love the softer, more laid back one especially, but they are both great.:)
They are so beautiful! I love those colors.
These quilts are both beautiful – nice to see them made two different ways. The homebody is especially appealingto me.
I love them both! That scrap one makes me super happy. Bravo on the magazine too!
Love them both
I saw your pattern in my Quiltmaker magazine that I received today. I am always excited when I see your name and/or picture of a quilt in a magazine or other publication. Congratulations, again!
I love them both! I finished a similar one last fall and it's at the quilter now. Can't wait to get it back.
i like all the variations you have in those quilts – nice job!
I love how different these two quilts are. Just like sisters.
They're both wonderful, but my heart goes to the scrappy one!
It's fun to see variations on a quilt pattern. both are charming in their own way but I'll choose the scrappy one every time.
These are looking great! Well done!
Thanks for sharing your lovely quilts with Oh Scrap! The blue and green scrappy one is yummy!
Kudos on two fine finishes!
I thought I recognized that quilt — and, indeed, there it is in Quiltmaker. (I got three new issues of quilt magazines in one day last week.) Congratulations!
Wonderful quilts – gorgeous colors! Thanks for sharing.
