Cookin’ Up Some Goodies

I’ve been busy making more soap. I really enjoy the process. I hope my daughter and I do well at the Christmas Boutique. If not my family will be well stocked in soap. This week I made. Eucalyptus mint and aloe was a favorite of my family and friends last year. I gave it out whenever I heard someone had come down with a cold. The aloe was soothing and the Eucalyptus in the shower helped with congestion.

Lemon poppy seed is a favorite of mine. Mostly because I love the smell of citrus.

Pumpkin spice is my daughters favorite. She loves everything pumpkin spice.

Now for a little whats for dinner solution. I often do a pork roast on Sundays. Now that two of my boys have moved away we have leftovers. This is something I’m getting used to. With three big boys we didn’t often have leftovers. I personally don’t want to just have roast reheated so I’ve gotten creative. One of my solutions is BBQ pork pizza.

I shred up the leftover pork, add BBQ sauce. I make a pizza crust and cover it with BBQ sauce to with my pork, cover with mozzarella, green pepper, red onions and some feta. Then I pop it in the oven. My family loves it. No leftovers here.

That citrus soap smells great from here! And I can so imagine the eucalyptus being reviving with a cold.

We also repurpose roast pork. If you shred it and season it a bit with chili powder, garlic and cumin it makes a great base for a number of southwestern influenced dishes, tacos, burritos, nachos. And one of our favorites is to toss it in a crock pot with black beans, diced sweet potatoes & tomatoes for a variation on chili. Sometimes leftovers are the best part!

That's so cool that you make soap and so many nifty varieties of it! Best wishes on selling it at the bazaar. Mmmm, that pizza sounds delicious, I'm a big pizza fan.
    Have a good week,

I can almost smell the soap, the eucalyptus mint and aloe sounds wonderful when you have a cold. My sister would love the Pumpkin Spice. Hope you do well at the boutique but if you have any left over you might want to give us a chance at them.

I can't stand having the same thing two days in a row either and usually make it into barbecue sandwiches but your pizza idea sounds like a winner so I'll try it next time. Thanks, Rina
