Creative Weekend; quilt show, class, art, and jewelry

The second weekend in June is a jammed packed creative weekend for me. I was disappointed last year when everything got canceled. So grateful to be able to enjoy the festivities this year. First up I packed my car, got my play list ready and headed south to the Panguitch Quilt Walk. As soon as I arrived I hit the quilt show and vender’s mall. So many great quilts. But I loved how bright and happy this quilt is. It reminds me of a pineapple quilt.

Vendor’s Mall

I don’t wear a lot of jewelry. But I’ve always loved bracelets. I wear have to wear a medic alert bracelet for a blood disorder. It brings my mom peace of mind. I like to add colorful beaded bracelets to draw attention away from it. So I was thrilled when I found these to add to my collection.

Quilt Class

Friday I taught a fun bunch of ladies some crumb applique with my Mary’s Garden pattern. They were thrilled with this method to use up their tiniest pieces. Most of them had used my tutorial and had their crumb fabric ready to go. I thought Cathy’s idea to repurpose a quilt she had found on Ebay, was ingenious. A great way to breath new life into the quilt. She had fun fussy cutting her pieces out.

After the class I headed to my parents to celebrate my mom’s birthday. I’m so blessed that these two events coincide each year. Father’s day is not too far behind either. It’s the perfect time to honor both of my parents. We enjoyed lunch at Chili’s, the Jazz game, garage sales, and visiting.

Chalk Art

After church on Sunday I headed home. The Bountiful Chalk Art Festival also happened this weekend. A nice stroll with my sweetheart to see the art was in order. Great scenes from McElligot’s Pool by Dr. Suess. A favorite children’s book.

Hubby loved this one themed around Up. His all time favorite children’s movie.

It was the perfect way to round out my creative weekend.
