I just love my Sew Bee Wonky Group. It stretches me and lets me be creative. Last month Jeri requested a people and/or places block using this tutorial. Janeth had made her some row houses and a barn. I decided it would be fun to make a farmer to go with the barn. I was thrilled when I found the red check in my scraps. It wasn’t quite big enough so I put the farmer in overalls and put the straps of his overalls over the seam I had to make to make his arms long enough. I think he turned out quite handsome.
And every handsome farmer needs a good woman by his side. So while I sang ‘The Farmer In the Dell’ I made him a wife.
I guess I could have gone on with the song. But my family thinks they need dinner every night.
I love the farmer and his wife. What a great way to use up some scraps.
Mr and Mrs Farmer are adorable!!
Oh absolutely adorable Em…this is a keeper…thanks for the liny…hugs, Julierose
You could make a whole quilt to go with the song! Maybe some wonky words along with the figures. I can see it all now…
Hugs
I love your farmer and his wife…I did a liberated lady project with my group a few years ago and made a delightful quilt from all the swapped blocks…really fun scrappy memories! Thanks for your post!
I have seen a lot of the dolly ideas done this way, but never a Farmer! You win the prize for creativity Em!
The farmer and his wife are such a cute couple! Great idea!
These are too cute! Can't wait to get them. Thank you!
