Yesterday was my Layton Quilt Guild meeting. The lovely ladies in my group are good to create lots of quilty hugs for me to give to cancer patients. I appreciate all their help. This one has a special story I want to share. Cindy, a member in my guild and a first grade teacher, had her students design nine patches using squares, rectangles and half square triangles. She then took their designs and made them into blocks. This quilty hug is the result.
I plan to attach a note to it telling how it was made and ask that the person who receives it contact us. So I can let Cindy’s students know where their beautiful creation ended up.
How sweet.
A wonderful idea for a very special quilt!!
Kids design without limitations. Why do we set up boundries for ourselves?
Beautiful quilt.
These design blocks are beautiful. This is a very special quilt.
Awesome effort from the first graders and their teacher. It's wonderful to teach kids so young how to help others. And I'm sure creating the blocks were a learning experience as well.
What a fantastic idea and it turned out beautifully.
