This weekend I was prepping these quilts so I can baste them tomorrow with my friends. I had pieced all the backs and was getting ready for the batting. Last time I bought batting I got a bolt that was 120″ wide. I figured this would give me the most bang for my buck. I could get two quilty hugs from the width.
Well, I pulled out one of my leftover pieces and look what I found.
My naughty doggy had chewed a whole in it. I was not a happy camper, but was able to stitch a scrap onto the undamaged piece and make it work. How can you stay mad at a face like this?
Thanks to Lara‘s info I’m now part of Pets on Quilts Show, pup on quilt category.
Naughty dog has a look of shame…poor little little pooch.
There is something about dogs and chewing holes in quilts…. Poor thing…. certainly has that guilty look!
Eeek! Glad you made a quick fix and finished up a brief scolding. Now how about those dog biscuits? Where did they go???
You just want to pick him up and cuddle him with a face like that. At least it was batting and not the quilt itself…whew! Em, did you know that the Pets on Quilts Show is this week? Somebody would make an awfully cute entry!

It could have been the quilt instead of the batting. My neurotic dog scratched the vinyl flooring then chewed a big hole in it. $$$. So I'm getting it tiled. That will fix her. At least it was in the laundry room that I wanted to redo anyway.
Awww the poor puppy looks so guilty. Glad you could repair it.
Give that cutey a cookie! I'm sure it was done with the best intentions 😉
Hahahaha, NO I could NOT stay mad at that cute little face. What is it with batting? Boomer chewed a huge hole in my roll as well. It can't possibly taste good, and the texture…ew. Seriously, I don't understand it. It's a good thing they are so lovable and worth a few batting patches on occasion. LOL
At least he looks ashamed of himself!
Hi! I don't think your sweety dog was naughty, just perhaps missed you a lot. Our Hanna was separated from her mom way too early and that's why she often likes to chew (gently) blankets etc. When she was young, she made whole to the cover on the couch (I think she did that while sleeping) and also on the down edge of one curtain. I think that also just happened to be next to her when she needed comfort. I love your star quilt and would love to hug your cute dog! x Teje

The quilts are beautiful! I love the "I'm sorry" face, they always give themselves away and really how can you stay angry, too cute.
They give you those big eyes and you can't help but melt – nope can't stay mad! Our old dog used to eat the wallpaper and Wilbur recently tore a few pieces out of the sofa!
Aw…he is so cute – how could you stay mad at that face! He really is sorry! Ha..ha….. your quilts are beautiful and so is your doggy.
Well I'd be an unhappy camper for a bit, until I found my batting tape. I'm so glad my cats haven't decided to get into my batting! Love the star quilt, is the pattern the MSQC Under the Stars?

I keep all batt hidden away as I have a kitty that thinks it's great for shredding with claws. It looks like it was an easy fix, but bad (cute) puppy.
Oh no……those puppy dog eyes are just shouting SORRY! Can't be mad with that sweet face.
Glad you were able to salvage the batting. Pretty quilts.
Aww, I know what you mean. And the pups are always all, oopsie, but it just HAPPENED Mom!
I wouldn't be able to stay mad at such a cutie, either. At least batting is unseen in the middle so patching is easy.
You just have to forgive a face like that. I think it rates a cookie of two.
I'm so glad that you joined our party!

Been there done that. Last dog ate the folded edge of an unbelievable length of batting. But you are correct you can't be mad at that face for long. Love your quilt too.
Too cute! Look at that cute little face! Maybe his toe nails got "caught up " in the batting…. it could happen to anyone… right?

Nope, can't do it. I tried to be mad at your doggy for you, but I just couldn't do it. He is too cute!
Apparently wadding is tasty- mine likes to pull the stuffing out of pillows and toys
Well, in this case there may be a little quilt IN the pet! Glad you made it work.
Hi! I know one can't stay mad at dogs here too! Mine is always eating my vegetables!! She has her own quilt! LOL Nancy

What an innocent look! My naughty dog once chewed up 6 cushions we had on the couch. I came out to white stuffing everywhere!
Lovely quilt on the line. Glad you were able to fix the batting.
Your puppy is so cute!!
Oh my! He certainly does have a guilty look!! Glad to hear that you could fix your quilt!!
LOL! He is naughty but oh so darn cute.
