It’s official Alex is 18. An adult. At least in societies eyes. I am not ready to admit that I have a child that is an adult. Where did the years go? Tomorrow he graduates. Two big days so close together. WOW! How fitting of Alex. We were up late last night finishing an engineering project. Once again I was getting after him for procrastinating. At least this time he didn’t give me his favorite line. “If you wait to the last minute it only takes a minute.” Not exactly the words of wisdom I want him to live by. Now a big thank you to Melanie from Jellybeanangel She sent me this lovely package. Such a delight. A darling chicken pin cushion. Fun tea towel. Yummy treats. I don’t know how she knew but hot cocoa is my all time favorite. When I let the kids pick a cookie to put in their lunch. Alex wanted to make sure I let Melanie know how cool he thought she was. So I’m letting you know, Melanie, you are soo cool. It’s official. Alex said so.
my dear son turned eightteen this year too — its a wonderful transition for everyone involved! 🙂 but definately a transition.
Add me to that "Mom of an 18-year-old" club. Definitely an interesting time, isn't it? 🙂
Such a good looking young man you have there! Isn't it wonderful to think that your relationship will grow into an "adult relationship" with him over the next years. I'm all grown up now but my mom and dad are still my best friends. Our relationship grew into that and I love it. And I hope yours with your son does too.
Congrats on 18!!!
Kris
Your young man is very handsome with his life ahead of him. What a fantastic age!!
Your package is very cool.
Happy Birthday and Congratulations to Alex!! I hope you survive the next couple of days – so much for a mom 🙂
Happy B-Day and congrats on grad to your Alex! Fun stuff! 😎
Lovely mailbox goodies from Melanie… For me, checking the mail since I started blogging is such fun! 😎
Happy stitchings!
What a looker! I've got a girl that just turned 18 and graduated too. So fast. It happens just too fast.
Happy birthday and graduation to your son. So much ahead and such a great time of life. My baby boy will be 30 in a few weeks (how did that happen I'm only 29 :-)!!! Nice to visit your blog.
My, you must be feeling so proud and so reflective at the same time. Where to from here?
i'm not ready either. we're in the exact same situation….18…graduated…wow, where did the time go?
Hia Em finally catching up here. Ooo 18 I remember that year. My Mum threw me a suprise party and the biggest surprise was that I wasn't there but skiing in the Alps stuck over there with a ferry strike! LOL
Happy Birthday Alex and congratz on graduating. It's the start of a whole new world for you.
Glad you liked the bits Emily
