Lend A Hand ~ Giveaway

At Costco recently they had garden gloves that have the grippy on the palm side.  These gloves are also useful when quilting a quilt on your home machine.  I thought there were 3 pair in the package.  I figured this was perfect; a pair for me in the garden, a pair for DD in the garden and one for in my sewing room.  Well, you know Costco, they have never heard of less is more.  So when I got home and opened the package I had six pair.  What was I going to do with three extra pair?

I gave one to a friend for her birthday.  That left me with two more.  Yes, I’m good at math, just not at reading packaging.  So I thought it’s been awhile since I’ve had a giveaway.  I don’t need or want the extra pairs so I’d thought I would share with you, my dear readers.  One pair is green as shown the other is purple.  I’ll draw two winners next Wednesday.  The first can choose what color they would like.  To enter leave a comment telling me about a time you got more than you bargained for.

Good luck everyone!

I took in a stray kitty , it was just for a few days (I am not a cat lover) and a few days later we had a litter of kittens on our hands! I managed to find homes for them all and every one of them lived very long and happy kitty lives.

That is so nice of you. I had a pair but my DH got a hold of them and I wouldn't touch a quilt with them…LOL. Hugs

Oddly enough I was ordering socks online (i don't remember the reason for that), it said six sets and the price sounded about right for that… I didn't realize that a set was 4 pairs, should have known when it said set instead of pair. lol

My Mom & I spent an extra night at my sisters a few years back and had stopped at Target to pick up a few things. We heard hysterical giggles from my Mom in the next room who had discovered that the underwear she'd bought were HUGE! Evidently they had been put back on the wrong rack… anyway we laugh about that every time we travel together.

I've occasionally gotten an extra pair of undies in my pack but now a days, it seems that there are fewer things in a pack than before. Like today, I discovered that the hot dogs are the same price per pack because there are 8 hot dogs and not 10!

This made me smile. I also bought a box of these at Costco and was looking at all of them the other day wondering if I would live long enough to use them all. I am going to a quilt retreat in a couple of weeks and taking the extras with me!

When I married my husband, I got much more of a gem than I realized I was getting! What did I know at that young age of 22 when I married him?? We're more in love now than ever (we're both 60). What a lucky girl I am! I'd love to have some new gloves.

I bought the same package and also thought there were just 3 pair! I have been giving mine to friends too!

Hi! I received a pair of these great gloves from a friend awhile ago, they really last! But, mine are wearing out, a new pair would be wonderful!
    Thanks for the giveaway!
    Take care, Leslie

I was having company for the weekend and went to the bagel shop to buy a dozen for breakfast. When I went to pay, the man handed me 2 large bags. He told me it was buy a dozen get another dozen for free. Since it was a Friday afternoon, I dropped it off at my church so they could bring it to the soup kitchen for Saturday breakfast.
I haven't noticed those gloves in our COSTCO. I'll have to keep my eyes open.

I had to laugh when I read your post. Up until recently I had been using a pair of Machingers gloves that I've had for a few years. But the tips were getting kind of dirty (rub off from fabric dyes?) and I was thinking about buying a new pair.

But then in prepartion for spring I was looking at my gardening supplies and I came across the package of Costo garden gloves I bought last year and realizing that with six pairs in the package (and that I garden on a terrace) there were more than enough there to take a pair for quilting use! I'm using the purple ones hoping they'll hide the dirt better.

Do you use yours as-is or did you cut the fingertips off so you can feel what you're doing? I bought some Fons & Porters quilting gloves years ago and that's what I did because I just couldn't stand not being able to feel the fabric, or having to take the gloves off to re-thread the needle, etc. I'd love the chance to win one of your spare pair of gloves 😀

I saw these when I was at Costco with my mom. We didn't buy them then, but I do think I have to go bck for more.

Mst of my excesise are from buying too much of one particular fabric. Ten metres of any one fbric is just too much.

I sometimes wonder why i bought so much of a certain fabric before, but not that often. 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win, either color would be great.
