Let the Finishing Begin

I’ve got me a pretty big stack of tops.  I don’t usually collect flimsies.  When I get a top done I get rather excited.  I know a finish is just around the corner.  But for some reason lately these have been piling up.

So I ran across the street to my quilting neighbor, Pauline, she lets me store my batting there.  You see her home is a little less crowded than mine so a bolt of batting fits at her house, where it doesn’t at mine.  We cut of 8 yards of batting.  That should keep me busy for a little while.  Let the finishing begin.

I have a pile of tops too. Most of mine are hanging in the sewing room closet. And they are bigger ones. I find it hard to get the larger ones basted for quilting any more with having a bad back.

  • Greenmare says:

if I were to sneakily slide 3 tops in the middle of that pile do you think you would notice………….. well I had to try right?

  • Wonky Girl says:

Ugh, I have several hanging in a closet that need quilting.
Wish I had a neighbor with room to store batting. My neighbors homes are just as stuffed as mine.

  • Needled Mom says:

    Looking forward to finishes!

We won't discuss how many of those I have. At least not in polite company. But, finishing is good. And, while you are in the groove, so to speak, there are a few at my house that could use the same treatment. Just in case you had some time and energy left over.

  • Allie says:

You are certainly going to be busy~! I miss my quilting buddy, I stored stuff at her house too, lol….now I have to DRIVE there.

Good on you Em! You go girl!

I too have been getting flimsies, backings, and batting ready for some finishes, though I'm still debating if I'll be quilting some of them, and giving others to the pro…

    Happy stitching!
