We’ve had the yuck at our house. Fortunately I didn’t get it. (Knock on wood.) But I’ve been playing nurse for the past few days. In an attempt to make DD feel better and get her mind off not feeling well, we made these heart shaped crayons from the bag of broken crayons she has. Thank you Joanna for this great idea. When she was feeling a little better I helped her make a new pillow case. Didn’t she do a beautiful job?
Thankfully she is better today and I was able to have my Happy Chemo Sew In. We’ve added two more quilts to the Happy Chemo Quiltometer. Another top just needs to be enveloped so Rella, my dear friend below who is ironing a row for another top, can tie it. Thank you Rella.
Here is Diane cutting foundation blocks for our next quilts. Shelly is taking a break after finishing the previously mentioned top.
Here are the blocks that were made last Saturday at the Happy Chemo Sew In at Quilter’s Haven. We got the rows sewn together today and Marilyn took it home to finish up. Thank you Marilyn!
Little by little the quiltometer climbs.
Great colors on that quilt! What fun.
So glad your little one is feeling better.
There is a lot of "yuck" going around this winter. I love the colorful chemo quilt you showed here today. Keep up the good work with your friends.
awh! I remember making big crayons out of my stubs…. that is so sweet! love the hearts!
Cute crayons, what a neat idea! Sorry everyone's been sick at your place, we've been through it too – and I didn't get it as bad as everyone else too, must be a mom thing, lol! Love the pillowcase and chemo quilt!
The crayons are cute. Hope the sickness leaves your house quickly. That is a really pretty quilt you guys are making.
Hope everyone is feeling better and you don't get it! The bottom quilt makes a great donation quilt — easy as a rail fence, but with added interest. I really like it!
I love that quilt! The crayon idea is wonderful. I am a teacher and have a rubbermaid tote full of broken crayons. I need to check out that blog entry.
Stay healthy, Em. Those are nasty bugs this year.
Those heart crayons are adorable!! Great idea.
I know that a new pillowcase has to make someone feel better, Nice job too.
I'm so sorry you guys have been sick. My neighbor has had it for over a week now…I'm avoiding her. 🙂 I love the crayon idea – thanks for posting it. blessings, marlene
Sorry to hear about the yuck at your house. Hope everyone is feeling better. Take care of yourself Em! I love the heart crayons! And that chemo quilt will be beautiful. Love the colours!
Great crayon creation Em!
Glad your DD was feeling good enough to be creative by making the pillow case, and that you could do your thing with the Happy Chemo Sew In gals! 😎
Love the look of those blocks on the display floor Em!!! What a great look!!!
Happy stitchings!
Wow you made the crayons! They look SO much better than our ones lol!! And your girl did an amazing job on the pillowcase! How old is she?!
