I’ve been adding to the woven blocks. I am really liking the homey comfy feel of this quilt. I’ve enjoyed the challenge of finding 24 traditional 8″ blocks. I’ve had to sharpen my math skills to make a few of the blocks work. But that is not all bad.
I had Jane over to look at her blocks she is pleased with them but she doesn’t care for the ric rac handle on the basket. I was sad because I love ric rac. But it’s all good I’ll just find another home for this cute little basket. And make another block.
Then add some sashing and corner stones, a piano keys border. Very appropriate for my childrens piano teacher, don’t you think? I’ll do this soon because I don’t want to keep Jane waiting for her quilt.
But I must admit I have put the blocks in a nice little storage box for now because I’m playing with other things.
Yes, indeed, piano keys are a perfect border! It really is a lovely traditional quilt — comfy looking, as you say.
That's gorgeous – I love the homey feel of the woven textiles. Can't wait to see the finished top!
Such a pretty quilt…just have the look of a country farm house.

I am a big fan of ricrac myself:) Love the traditional style of the quilt – very cosy.
I don't see anything wrong with the rick rack handled basket block. I would like you to leave it in.
I like the ricrac handle I think it goes with the quilt. The quilt is super super cute! Thanks for your comment on my blog. Have a bless week! HAPPY SEWING!
Em! What woven beauty and fun. If this isn't a great place to be this morning over coffee gf, I don't know where is better… This is just darn happy fun.
I'm shaking my head and typing so fast and talking as I type and thinking "gosh I should get out my woven stash" and now I'm saying… "Oh no, I've been distracted before 8am!"
*karendianne. who doesn't do ric rack either. (ps: very cool about tightening up the math skills. I could us a challenge like that… wouldn't like it but would be good for me)
That will be beautiful. I love the fabrics. I can't imagine why she would not like the rick rack handle as I thought it looked cute.

I've been collecting homespun to do a homey quilt myself and seeing yours just makes me want to get started. Love it. Too many irons in the fire at this time.
