I love the beach. It is one of my favorite places on earth. I also love sunrises and sunsets. So when I saw all these wonderful oranges, pinks and purples in the scrap bag I knew I needed to make a beachy sunset. I had fun making the subtle curves in the sand and putting the wedges together to make the sunset. I am very pleased with how everything came together. I even tried something new by quilting this little journal cover.
It never ceases to amaze me what my scrap bag and a little creativity can produce.
What a wonderful creation! I love it!
what a great little quilt! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as a journal cover — brightening each day with its sunshine 🙂

Here in eastern Oregon, we had snow fall for the first time the other night. When seeing this beautiful use of colorful scraps, that beach inspiration made me feel alot warmer – as its just cold here in the mountains. Thanks for making my day a little brighter!!
Wonderful Em….
Beautiful journal cover!

Love it Em! 😎
Oh my gosh – so cute and clever. I really don't care for some artsy quilts. This is my type of art quilt. This is lovely. Scrappy, tells a story and is creative. Well done my friend.
I love everything that looks like the beach-this sun reminded me of that…beautiful; again, wish I had learned to sew. 🙂
WOW, what a great way to use your scraps!!!
LOVE your blog, thanks for the wonderful ideas! 🙂
