I changed my mind. I was going to use made fabric but it took away from the cute churn dashes. So came up with another plan. I’ve decided to call it Mad Dash. I added strips of white to make each block finish at 12″. Then I alternated random strips of colored fabric with random strips of white. I kept adding until they reached 12 1/2″. Then I cut them into 1 1/2″ strips and added 1 1/2″ strips of white on either side. I used these for the sashing. I made corner squares by surrounding a bit of fabric with white so it measured 3 1/2″ square.
Now I’m trying to decide if I want the dashes as an outside boarder or if I just want to use a scrappy binding to finish it off. What are your thought?
Fun. I love the name. My first instinct is to scrappy bind it but I'm a visual person and have to "see" things. So I'm sure if you decide to add churn dashes for a border it'll look fantastic. I'll wait patiently while you decide. :o)
I love this sashing, it really makes the blocks stand out, it's cute and fun. I would do dashes in the border or even wonky triangles might be fun, since there is the triangle element in the churn dash blocks. Maybe a solid binding or even a white one depending on the border.
Love the dashes! ( Maybe a border of smaller churn dashes?) I'm sure you'll have a great idea pop into your head….julierose
I REALLY like the dash sashings, and think they would look good in the border, too.
Love your Mad Dash. I might would put the dash around the outside and then bind it in white?
Love those fun churn dashes! I would go with a scrappy binding (mostly because I hate adding borders and if you did add on, you would probably need both a pieced and solid white before binding).
This is lovely Em
I think it deserves a sash border – more work I know, but I love the concept of this!

here is my thought: you are amazing.
