What do 2 1/2″scrappy squares plus an ice cream bucket of odd shaped scraps equal? (yes we eat ice cream by the bucket here, none of those little carton things would ever do besides its a good place to put a bunch of scraps for a project.) Well if you mix these two ingredients and follow Quiltville’s tutorial. You get these scrumptious little wonky maverick stars.

As you can see they are quite addictive. I’ve made a ton. But must admit the ice cream bucket is still quite full. How does that happen? I couldn’t decided which picture I liked best so you get both.

What fun stars. I will print the pattern. Scraps I have a lot of, and I have not figured out what to do with them. This is a great idea thanks. Have a great Monday

Ha ha! I was just opening up my reader and saw this post. I clicked and said (literally): "Whoa! What IS THAT?" So here I am totally taken away and so glad I'm just cutting because this is a SERIOUS DISTRACTION, Em. What are you trying to do to me… take my breath away? …because you surely did. Gosh friend, I can completely see how addicting these are and with that scrumptious stash you have – are we kidding here? This is unreal. I'm psyched. I have to go put myself away before I blow a gasket!

Everyone knows that ice cream by the bucket tastes much better than by the carton, or the bowl for that matter. Love the blocks – such bright and happy stars!

  • Shari says:

I love these little stars… and I think the scraps breed because they never seem to diminish…

  • Needled Mom says:

I love making those. They are so addictive and I have an addictive personality! So, are you going to change your blog's name to Em's Bucket of Scraps?

  • Terri says:

The scraps wait until you turn your head and they, well, how do I say it delicately? They reproduce. Like little rabbits. It's the only explanation for why the scrap bag never empties!
