Welcome to Moving it Forward, a celebration of progress. Thankfully my back is doing better. I’m mostly just stiff in the morning now. So I was able to assemble those drunkard’s path pieces I showed on Friday. A good think since I am teaching this class on Wednesday. I realized just over a week ago that my quilt is in a shop and I would need an example. Then my back gave me grief and I was a little worried about getting this done. Thankfully everything worked out and I am ready for my class. I did this sample using Riley Blake’s Primavera by Patty Young. You can find the pattern here.
I was able to finish the applique for my second row in My Neighborhood quilt along. Now to sew all the blocks together before it’s time for the third row.
Finally we have a new bar in the shower. This time our family is using Oatmeal Honey. We have sensitive skin at my house, hence the reason I started making soap. One of my children has been stressed about the ACT test and the stress has given them hives. So we are using this bar to sooth their itchy irritated skin, poor thing.
Well that is my progress. Now I’d love to see and hear about yours. Link up and show us what you’re moving forward.
when a child feels under stress that much you always begin to wonder if it is worth it. I'm starting to think more kids need a year off between high school and college to think things through
Glad the back is feeling better. The "curves" look wonderful. You finished them so quickly. I'm sure it will be a great class.
Those are awesome looking quilts! Hope you are pain free soon
So glad your back is feeling better! Mine has been killing me lately, sudden sharp pains when I turn the wrong way or lean forward just so. VERY ANNOYING. Don't know whether I should go to my doctor, to a chiropractor, a masseuse, or what, but it's becoming obvious that it isn't just going to go away on its own… Your drunkard's path quilt top looks fantastic, by the way. Love that setting.
Your soap sounds wonderful! You are such a great mom to give you kid some TLC. Sometimes it's the little things that count!
I so agree with Kristi – you are such an amazing mom to make this soap for your kiddos! Awesome! Your sample quilt is stunning – I love how the flowers move in the breeze! Nice job! Thank you for sharing!
How resourceful to make soap to help your kids! What a great mom! All our juniors took the ACT 2 weeks ago. So I get the stress.
