I’ve been milling around ideas of how to use my wonky stars I made here. Early Saturday morning, like at 2 a.m.,(does this happen to anyone else?) the idea came to me. My stars will finish at four. Maybe because at the Quilty Hug sew in I was cutting scraps into various pieces that would make 4″ blocks this idea has been forming unbeknownst to me. Whatever the reason I’m pleased with the result. Here is what I have so far.
I’ll be going away this weekend with friends to sew. I don’t like to spend my retreat time cutting. I want to just chat, eat and sew. So I got a couple of projects ready. I can barely wait start moving these forward.
In the mean time, what have you been moving forward? I’d love to see what you’ve been up to. Link up and share your progress.
That is a great setting for the stars.
Oh I like how that is coming out!!!
Great stars layout, especially the placement of lights and darks! I agree with you about cutting at retreats and sew days – I'd rather cut ahead of time and just sew and socialize.
Your wonky stars are going to be in a great setting. This is looking wonderful!
Oooh! I love the diagonal set! And a great way to use 4 patches. I've been looking for fun ways to use 2 1/2 squares.
Oh I like that idea!! and yes – that stupid 2am thing happens way m ore than I wish it would – I would be okay with 8am – ha ha – Love where you are going with it!
That is a great setting for the stars. Great combination of blocks. I hope you have a great time at the retreat.
Isn't it fun to see how ideas form over time. Sometimes blocks are made and then years later they become a quilt in a completely different pattern than originally planned. I have done that so many times!
I too like to be precut before a retreat. I don't like to take heavy thinking projects to retreats because I visit instead of think.
I love what you have done with those stars!
Wonderful setting!! I wonder if I have enough "orphans" in the drawer to put something like this together…
I love your idea! Isn't it wonderful how our brain works behind the scenes to come up with great ideas! I have never been to a retreat, but I do like to have my fabric cut up before going to my Bee!
