This week went by fast. I think that between now and Christmas it’s just going to speed by. I’ve been busy getting ready for the holiday boutique I’m doing with my daughter this weekend. This has kept me from getting much time with my sewing machine. I was however able to add to my stack of wonky stars.
And a few more Splendid Sampler blocks. Yes, I’m way behind on these. I’ve decided that I’ll just do the blocks using methods I like. No more paper piecing. I abhor it. I know there are people who love it. I’m just not one of them. The blocks with embroidery may or may not get done. So that just leaves me this the pieced ones. This method may allow me to eventually catch up.
That is my meager progress. Now it’s your turn. What have you moved forward?
I'm loving your wonky blocks and hope ya post about your holiday event…it sounds fun!
I don't care for paper piecing all that much either and rarely make a quilt that way. Hope your sale goes well. I helped my sister in law out with a sale this week – she is an author self published and she had a table set up at the local craft fair for two days – we did ok. A lady with crochet items was nearby and I could see she was making sales now and then but didn't look like she was selling much
I'm with you on paper-piecing!!
Your little blocks are very nice. I started the Splendid Sampler but it kind of faded out of my life. You have lots of blocks. Good luck with your Holiday Boutique.
Hi, I think this is the first time I've linked here. Thanks for hosting the party. Love the name of your blog…so true.
I do love your star blocks, I would think not doing what you don't like would defeat the purpose of making a quilt LOL
Yes, the days are going to really fly by now. The scrappy stars are so pretty.
Looks like you've made a lot of progress to me. Love your wonky star blocks! Thanks for hosting the link up.
beautiful wonky star blocks!
Em, I am doing exactly what you are doing…the blocks on the Splendid sampler using the techniques I like!! Love your progress!
Any progress is progress – good work!
I abhor paper-piecing too! I adore your stars!
Meager?? That's a lot and beautiful too, I like that you're using 'liberated' style. Gwen Marston did us all a big favor reminding us to relax and enjoy our own creativity.
I like your blocks! I'm stuck, having a major quilting block so no progress at all 🙁
