Being the mother of boys I have a need to make man quilts. Especially since those boys to the world they are men, to me their still my boys. This quilt uses Moda’s Wool and Needle Flannels by Primitive Gatherings. My middle son loves flannel quilts, so this will probably be for him.
I used a dutchmen’s puzzle block and played with color. I like how it created two alternate patterns. Linking up with Sarah and Amanda Jean to celebrate.
I have flannel to make a quilt with this fall – I really need to try to finish at least one work in progress before I start this one.
Your quilt came out beautiful
! I* really love the colors and design too. I would love to make a flannel quilt but I'm afraid of how much it would shrink. I prewash everything but I'm not sure how much extra to buy. Did you use quilter's flannel?
It's beautiful!
Great idea and I'll bet it feels amazing.
The secondary design jumps right out.
Love that quilt.
I love it! It's a very manly quilt.
Lovely and perfect for your son! Flannel is hard to beat for comfort and richness. Nice choice of design.
The color combination you chose looks fabulous1
That's beautiful, Emily! Love the colors and the manliness!!
I think the fabric requirements are off on the package-1 fat quarter will not make 30 rectangles 3.5x 6.5. what did you use??
You are right I was informed of this yesterday and have not made the correction on my website yet. You will need 5/8 if using the Cottonworks fabric line. 1/2 yard will work if using regular quilters cotton.
thank you. are the rest of the fabric requirements correct as printed on the pattern??
are the rest of the fabric requirements ok? thank you for your prompt reply!
I am so sorry. When I designed this quilt I did it in several sizes. Apparently I have the cover picture for one and the material list for another. The material list will make a quilt that measures 50" x 62". For the quilt that is pictured you will need. 1 1/8 yard for binding and star center, 1 3/8 yard for star background, 3/4 yard for dark pinwheels and 1/2 yard cuts for pinwheels and stars. Once again I apologize for this mess.
we ordered 6 patterns and would like to have corrected copies to make our store sample and kits for our customers as soon as possible. Please advise how to do this.
Just email me your address and I will get them out. So sorry about this.
I sent them yesterday. Didn't post your last comment. Didn't think you wanted your address up for everyone.
