This happy fun quilt started as an ice cream bucket of scraps and a need for some mindless sewing. Don’t you love how relaxing mindless sewing can be? It is very healing for me. Crumb blocks are some of my favorite mindless sewing. No need to cut fabric, just start sewing little bits and pieces together. I even pieced crumbs together for the back. Then added a scrappy binding another favorite of mine. I have a little tute on how I make my pieced bindings if you would like and another for putting the binding on and having it match up perfect when you meet up the two ends. It’s easy peasy.
I’ll be linking up with Amy for Sew and Tell. Go see what other fun projects have been finished this week. Have a happy weekend !
Charming! What a lovely quilt! I just love how the border/sashing black dot fabric pulls it all together.
Do you use a foundation for the blocks?
I use your binding tutorial all the time. It's helped so much – thanks for sharing it!
what a beautiful quilt! Love those crumbs.
I love this quilt! It makes me want to go grab my "crumbs" bag and start sewing! (And someday I will – just not when I have three projects going simultaneously!)
Lovely quilt Em…
Stopping by from Sew and Tell. Love your crumb quilt!!
Love your crumb quilt! I also like the mindless sewing of crumbs. It is very relaxing.
This is just too, too cute and I have to tell you. I do have to tell you. I've been holding out. I did make an effort at crumb blocks a while back. It didn't go well. I know you're going to wonder about that but when you think somemore you'll probably consider that my head is just really programmed and maybe you'll *sigh* and say "Oh Karen!"
The black dots really unify the whole happy look of this quilt! It's beautiful! :o) Visiting from Sew&Tell. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o) Larri at Seams Inspired
This is so pretty! Gotta try this sometime. Thanks for the inspiration!
I usually give my crumbs to my best friend. She is going to be soooo unhappy with you!!! LOL!!

Waste not want not for scraps, and mindless sewing is great!!! Quilt looking wonderful! 😎
Those look wonderful in blocks!!!! They must be a delight to put together too….mindless sewing!!!!
Between all of my canning and being out of town I have just sewn your block. I will put it in the mail on Monday.
Hi Em, What a great way to use up the scraps and little bits you just can't throw away. I have so many scraps and pieces of material that I've taken to making banners for displays in the library. I was prompted to do this when my husband commented on how my material cupboard was growing. Hmmmm this gets you moving – hey? Kind regards, Anita.
how great! i always have 'crumbs leftover and am never sure what to do with them this is a great idea!
I love your crumb quilt and at the risk of sounding dumbish what is a crumb and is there a tutorial on how to make this block??
thanks julie
