Our little vacation to the coast was just what I need to break through the wall I had hit while quilting Josh’s quilt. I breezed through the quilting on the last border.
Quickly cut a scrappy binding, tutorial here if your interested. I sew it on using these two tutorials; one for joining the other for machine binding. Doing it all by machine made it super speedy.
Here is the back. Not the greatest picture. I was running out of daylight. I used all the leftover bits and pieces from the front. I really like how I was able to make a row of houses from the leftover flying geese and 5″ squares. Josh is thrilled to have it for his bed. No more worrying that some part of him is not covered by the throws he has been using. He did have one that fit his bed but it’s been cold here, 20* as a high, so another bed quilt is much appreciated. I’m linking this scrappy finish with Cynthia.
Now a look back at a few 2015 favorites.
Not Always Black and White, Scrappy Bears, Multiplicity,
Radiant Star, Fruition, Nautical Nights,
Garden Quilt, Crystallized, and Scrappy Dresden
Looking forward to a creative 2016.
What a lovely year of finishes. All beautiful and I bet they sleep good.
Congratulations! It has been a great year, but the best is yet to come.
Congratulations to this wonderful finish and a really productive and creative year 2015.
Greetings,

A finish with a flourish! And I'm sure Josh's quilt is extra snuggly and comforting since it was made by Mom.
