My Grandpa used to say he only liked two kinds of pie, hot and cold. Like him I am a pie lover. Maybe that is why I was so thrilled when Stephanie introduced me to the 45* wedge. It looks just like a piece of pie and oh the yummy things you can do with it. Like this fun quilt I started recently.
I also made these blocks for my BFF exchange
I also tried this spider web block.
I might make it into a quilt like this one found in Freddy & Gwen Collaborate Again.
Or I might just make it in a pillow, wall hanging, or something else. Because I really like this setting for spiderweb blocks, found in Material Obsession Two. I can’t figure out how to do it without foundation piecing. If you can figure it out I would appreciate your help.
But for now I’ll just enjoy my piece of pie.
Those spider web quilts are on my to do list! That really looks like a great tool too. I may have to check it out.
Your block is on its way. Love your blue/yellow one there!!!!
I was expecting a recipe but now I am happy to learn about that wedge template…thanks
A very wise grandpa. :o) Great projects and I love the Freddy and Gwen block. What a terrific quilt that'll be.
All pies are good as are your lovely quilts..great template and so much can be done with it..

You have shown some of my most favorite quilts! That ruler rocks.
Love that template – it's amazing how many different blocks you can create!
Yum! Pies! Love that ruler. Must get myself one.
Spiderwebs have been calling my name for a while (and I don't mean the ones in the corner of the sewing room). This just makes their little voices louder.
Bonnie at Quiltville has an easy spiderweb pattern. I'm using a similar pattern but using paper as foundation. No idea how to make a web block without foundation, paper or muslin.
The pie wedge block would be cute made from all the farmers market fruit and veggie fabrics!
Thanks for sharing, I look forward to checking out your bog.
I love your Piece of pie top-super cute! And that web block should definitely be made into a Freddie and Gwen quilt that would be awesome!
These are all great looking quilts. Haven't tried that shape before, but I might just have to give it a go.
I just finished a quilt very much like the top quilt…using the Kaleido-ruler. the pattern is from Material Obsession 2. So true that with these rulers you can do so much! lovely!
