At 3:30 this morning when so many ideas were running through my head I decided to get up and at least be productive. I finished the last few inches of the binding on my Santa on Every Corner Quilt. Then I sewed eyes on all the Santa’s and hung it this morning. I love how it looks on my red wall. This has been such a fun quilt to make; from the time Nanette started the exchange, to getting my blocks, figuring out how to put them together, deciding on how to quilt it and finally binding it. I would have bond it sooner but I’ve been saving it so I would have something to do in the infusion lab. I’ve had to undergo some treatments there the last few weeks and to keep me off the pity pot and my mind on better things I try to always have some hand work. Last week I finished up gifts for my quilt guild. I’ll show those soon but I have to wait until I give them tomorrow. I have also been blessed to have company with me the last two times. My dear friend Holly came last week. Which is so totally amazing considering she has 8 children to take care of and it’s Christmas time. How did I get so lucky to have such a dear friend that would take hours out of her busy schedule to sit with me. Yesterday my ‘favorite’ Aunt Darlene came with. She surprised me at lunch by not only going and getting lunch but bringing back my Uncle Bud and cousin Debbie. It was like a family reunion. We shared our lunches with my fellow chemo patience and enjoyed visiting. As far as days in the infusion lab go it was a good one; no bed reaction this time, everyone was positive and uplifting (which never fails to amaze me considering what they are up against), and I got to enjoy time with family that I don’t see as often. Nice to know they are there when I need them. I am so blessed.
It sounds like you are blessed with many angels in your life, Emily. I am glad they were able to be there and make the treatments a little more tolerable.
I love your Santa on every corner. That is just adorable!
Well how cute the quilt turned out! It looks great there with the painted santa's on your table.
You have inspired me to make some house blocks from Christmas fabrics. It will be fun and maybe can finish by next Dec. LOL
Bless your friends for being so good to you!
I know that I am definitely in the 'slow' department in a lot of ways, but I missed the part about you and chemo. I am so sorry that you are having to go through that. Having said that, I am so glad that you have friends and family (and quilting) to make it a much kinder experience for you. I love your Santas on every corner quilt. I made two blocks yesterday, but I'm sending them to CA. Now I need to make some for me. 😀
What a wonderful quilt. Glad you were able to get if finished off, even if it was during chemotherapy. What blessing friends and family can be during difficult times.
I love your Santa quilt! It looks so festive next to your red walls! I am so sorry you are having to endure chemo during what is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. I'm glad you have friends and family to help you through!
Congrats on a cute finish! My blocks are still in a box. I even have a name for the quilt…once I decide how to set the blocks.
Very cute quilt and a nice finish for Christmas .I also like the runner in the picture .Merry Christmas .

Your quilt is so cute and I just love the name. Mine is still in blocks and I have quite a few more trees to make. It won't be done this Christmas, but maybe next one. 🙂
Love the quilt and the santa's in the corner so cute. Very merry with the wooden santas and the runner.
Emily, it is so good to have family. There is something comforting about them being there. I hope things go well for you.
Your quilt finish is wonderful Em! Turned out great, and looks lovely against your red wall indeed!
How wonderful for you to have the company of family and friends during your treatments… You are well blessed… I pray for your biggest Christmas wish…
Love love love it. The santas on the corner make it. So darling.
