A Santa on Every Corner

At 3:30 this morning when so many ideas were running through my head I decided to get up and at least be productive. I finished the last few inches of the binding on my Santa on Every Corner Quilt. Then I sewed eyes on all the Santa’s and hung it this morning. I love how it looks on my red wall. This has been such a fun quilt to make; from the time Nanette started the exchange, to getting my blocks, figuring out how to put them together, deciding on how to quilt it and finally binding it. I would have bond it sooner but I’ve been saving it so I would have something to do in the infusion lab. I’ve had to undergo some treatments there the last few weeks and to keep me off the pity pot and my mind on better things I try to always have some hand work. Last week I finished up gifts for my quilt guild. I’ll show those soon but I have to wait until I give them tomorrow. I have also been blessed to have company with me the last two times. My dear friend Holly came last week. Which is so totally amazing considering she has 8 children to take care of and it’s Christmas time. How did I get so lucky to have such a dear friend that would take hours out of her busy schedule to sit with me. Yesterday my ‘favorite’ Aunt Darlene came with. She surprised me at lunch by not only going and getting lunch but bringing back my Uncle Bud and cousin Debbie. It was like a family reunion. We shared our lunches with my fellow chemo patience and enjoyed visiting. As far as days in the infusion lab go it was a good one; no bed reaction this time, everyone was positive and uplifting (which never fails to amaze me considering what they are up against), and I got to enjoy time with family that I don’t see as often. Nice to know they are there when I need them. I am so blessed.
