Sometimes after completing a project I need a little play. Not that every project I finish has an element of play, but I like to let go a structure and be spontaneous. Pull out my scrap been and just let things happen. Take for instance these little 1 1/2″ squares I found in the bin from a recent project. I mindlessly put them together to create this ‘make me smile’ nine patches.
When the little squares were gone I started sewing bits together to create a little fabric.
Finally I cut up some bigger pieces from the scrap bins into strips.
What will become of all this play only time will tell, but ideas are forming.
I am playing in my scraps too this morning…it is just the happiest piecing!! Love your nines!!
I do the same thing. I love playing in my scraps. Love your nine patches!
Those tiny nines are adorable! Wish I had time to play in the scrap bin today 🙁
lots of happy sewing….
A bright cheery post, thanks for the eye candy!
Sometimes it's just nice to sew without a plan. Looking forward to the results!
This is exactly how I feel after finishing a project! And with my last one being so big I am content to play a while longer! I always love your posts!!!
Lots of scrappy fun! I hope to do some of that after my current projects are finished. It might be a while, but I am looking forward to it!
Interesting shapes in the blocks. Free form good.
