Happy Independence Day!
For today’s Scrap Happy Summer a tute for a 4th of July quilt.
To make it you will need
Various scraps of read and white for the points
63- 2 1/2″ white squares
48- 2 1/2 ” red squares
504- 2 1/2″ blue squares
110- 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ blue rectangles
For each white star use 8- 2 1/2″ blue squares and 1- 2 1/2″ white
On four of those squares sew a point as shown.
Press and trim
Add another point
Press and trim.
Arrange your star and sew into a nine patch.
With 28 of your rectangles add points on one side.
With remaining rectangles add points on both ends.
Here is the progress I have made so far.
I’m real excited for this one. Not only is it putting a dent in my blue scrap bin. (For some reason that one fills up a lot faster than the others.) It’s a wonky mindless sewing quilt perfect for summer.
Hope your 4th is safe and fun!
Looks like an easy way to make some stars. My red, whites, and blue scraps are very, very low right now. I used them in the Save The Whales quilt recently.
Nice! I really like it. I was thinking today I need a new RWB quilt. Sometime.
I'm excited to add this to what I want to sew with my scraps list. Love the quilt. Thanks…
