Scrap Happy Summer~ Sachet

A few years ago my friend, Diane made this cute sachet pillow for me.  Diane is a wonderful gardener and has a bumper crop of lavender each year.

I love the smell of lavender.  So I decided to plant my own.  I planted it on either side of my porch so can smell it every time I come home.  It’s in bloom now and smells wonderfully.

I’m harvesting it and making my own sachets out of scraps of fabric.  These little hearts are made from a cookie cutter out of Mary’s favorite drawer at my house, the play dough drawer.

I also thought these little houses that I made at Christmas time might make cute sachet’s.  They are scrap friendly too.  Make a few for yourself and a few to give to friends.  A sweet reminder of summer when the weather turns cold.

Perfect. We planted lavender and the first year it didn't do much. I was told the next year it would do better after getting established. Yep, yummy lavender this year.

Oh yes….the houses would be darling too. Rhat's a great use of scraps and lavender.

What a great idea. My lavender is coming up all over the place. It smells so nice. I think I will have to make some of those sachets.
