Although the title says these are scrap happy summer stars they remind me of fall. Which believe it or not is just around the bend. I find these colors are my comfort colors, kind of like comfort food. What I turn to when I want a little down time, some sit back and veg time, or quiet one on one with a friend time colors. Where the bright happy colors that I so often use are my I want to play, get up and dance, let’s have a party colors. Do you know what I mean? These little stars have been in the works for some time now, at least five years I’d say. I had several of the centers made and had put it on my Finish Means Freedom list that my guild does every year. So yesterday I cut out the points and background and started sewing. I needed a little time to relax. I finished registering for school yesterday and will start Monday with my kids. I’m a bit nervous about how I will juggle everything but I’m excited too.
So while the machined hummed it’s relaxing song I made all these scrap happy stars in my comfort colors.
What scrap happy goodness did you come up with this week? Link up so we can see. Remember to link back here so those that find you first and come back and see what everyone else has done.
Hey Em!
I'm sure you will do fine with schooling again… Good for you for having what it takes to go for it!!! 😎
I absolutely love these blocks! What a great way to use up small strips of leftovers for the centers there!!! That is going to be a wonderful looking quilt!!!
As soon as I get these weddings out of the way, I'd love to join in on your Scrap Happy Summer… but… Summer will be over by then, and I'll have to wait till next time…
This Mister Linky thing might be good to use for my PhD Challenge 2011… hmmmmmmm….? I will have to look into that! 😎
Happy stitchings!
Those stars are wonderful. I'm glad to hear that you are taking a little time for yourself in the midst of so much excitement. You will love school! It will be difficult, but definately for the best. I did it a few years ago and it was the best. I don't have a linky this week because I haven't been sewing much. But, hopefully next week.
I love your star blocks! Great use of scraps. I'm almost jealous of your returning to school. I loved taking courses. I have no scraps to blog about this week, but I am quilting my little scraps quilt and hope to have it done in a day or so. I'll add my name to your linky then.
Just love your Scrappy Stars… :o))
Oh my! I do love these stars and you KNOW IT. They're just my style.
