I have been seeing quite a few of these little guys out in blog land. He is a free pattern by Denise Schmidt. I had a little yesterday and thought he would be fun to make. Being as he is so scrappy and my theme at quilt guild is Scrap Happens Make A Quilt. And I wouldn’t be a very good leader if I didn’t set a good example and make something scrappy. So I pulled out my 2 1/2″ squares and went to town.
I didn’t do a very good job with the inside corners so his ear and tail are a little skewumpus. But DD loves him. I was thrilled to have the fun blue, pink and yellow ric rac that I had found at a thrift store to make his collar. It matches him perfectly don’t you think.
And the timing in get him done couldn’t be better because now I have something for Amy’sfun Sew and Tell. Thank you Amy for hosting Sew and Tell. It is always so much fun. Go check out what everyone else has done. Amy has some very cute bags that she made.
He…is…sew…sweet!
thanks for sharing his happy, little self with us this Friday!
Very cute! I was a big fan of scotty dogs when I was little. I would have loved to have one of these.
Very cute Em!
He really is cute — and it looks like his ear is cocked for listening and he's wagging his tail!
he is so cute
We love it over here! So what iIf he's wagging his tail a bit?
(I have been marking Anna's plain white quilt border every 2 inches to match it up to the squares to prevent any puckering.)
We still think he's fabulous and I am getting requests!
Cute, Em. The rick rack looks awesome for a collar!
Too cute!

Hi Em, I have a book with the pattern of the cute little dog. He is very nice, and a great way to use up those little bits you just can't throw out. Kind regards, Anita.

So fun! I posted a Scotty Dog as well…I love how the same pattern can yield such a variety of results!
So cute!
I have some 2.5" squares too and I think I'd like to try making one … they are just too cute! Thanks for sharing.
Very cute! And Scrappy is a great name for a dog!
So so sweet. I love little doggies and this couldn't be cuter.
Oh my gosh he is so, so, so cuteamous! I love his little collar, too. The other fun here was hanging onto the photo and studying all the fabrics. GF, you have a great stash!!!
I recently made one myself! Isn't it funny how we all see one and start making them all over the place. I had a hard time with the inside corners, too. It was tricky! Yours is cute!
