I knew I wanted to add a few more things to my wonky garden. I was thinking butterflies, but as I looked through quilt books to get inspiration. I saw some cute little birds and a memory from my childhood came to me. I remembered the song, In the Leafy Treetops, that we used to sing in primary.
As a child I got the first verse correct about the birds singing good morning.
But I totally messed up the second verse and thought is said that the flowers were naughty instead of nodding. Didn’t figure that one out until I was a primary leader.
Since my flowers are wonky they can nod or be naughty and fit right in with the singing birds. Thanks to this fun memory I now have a few more ideas to implement in my garden. Looking forward to seeing how they develop.
I can't wait until your lovely garden is finished so you can show it all off! Love the birdies!!
Cute block!
Can't wait to see more!
It looks like it's going to be a bright happy quilt.
Cute story to go with a very cute quilt. I sang that song to my children, and now I sing it all the time to my grandchildren. A classic for every generation.
Love those additions to your garden.
Sweet birds with a sweet story Em!
These colors are so refreshing since it's the dead of
winter. Kind of cheers me up!
