Strip and Stress Bustin’

Our upstairs shower stopped working. You could turn on the water full blast and be lucky if you got wet. There was no pressure. So I had no alternative than to call a plumber. Fortunately my friend’s hubby is one and he could make it on short notice. While he banged on the pipes I pulled out a couple of my drawers of strips. I have joined Stephanie’s No Strings Attached Challenge and found this the perfect time to begin. The mindless sewing relaxed me even as the hours passed and the banging pipes and clanking of tools continued. Finally several hours later my shower worked and I had completed all these fun strip blocks. Before I started on these blocks I could barely close my 2 1/2″ strip drawer. But I am working my way through it. By the time this challenge is done It should close very easily and I should have some lovely strip quilts. Just in time to relieve a little more stress I also received these pretties in the mail. I’m looking forward to using them. I have no plans but I’m sure as they sing, their song will speak to me and I will think of something.

Inspiration should come quickly with that new fabric stash.

Oh Em! The blocks are fantastic. Superb, spectacular and sensational. However the shower, well that's, well actually that's turned out pretty spiffy having a friend and all. I completely dig seeing your design wall by the way – you know I do!!! Now those fabrics, golly what fun. A girl could really play there I'm thinkin'.

I love the colors you put together for you string blocks. Did you pick that color scheme or just grab whatever came out of the drawer?
