I grew up in a Suburban neighborhood full of kids. And I had a ton of fun. This quilt is in memory of all the baseball I played in backyards and the night games we played until our parents called us in. I used a random smattering of houses, baseball diamonds, lawns, and sidewalks.
I love this line by Jen Kingwell for Moda. It is called Moving On and is a lovely lawn, so silky smooth. It was a delight to work with and made the perfect summer quilt.
The pattern is available here. I’m linking up with Sarah and Amanda Jean to celebrate this summer finish. Oh, and I almost forgot to announce the winners for last weeks giveaway. The random number generator picked #10 Mary from Needled Mom and #22 Linda who said,” Your Modern Gems quilt is awesome! Congrats on the publication in Quick Quilts. Also, thanks for giving us a chance at this generous giveaway.”Please send me your snail mail and I’ll get your prizes on their way.
Very innovative!
That is really beautiful. Looking at the photo, I see a tall glass of summer lemonade hiding in the upper left hand side!!! I'm sure those fabrics were planned for that. 😉
Thanks so much for the giveaway, Em. I'm looking forward to seeing the fun magazine.
This is adorable! Love all of those different prints.
This is such a great quilt!
Oh what a lovely way to see a memory, it's gorgeous and I can see exactly what you're describing !

Love it – such beautiful colors!!
This is so pretty.
Ah, thanks for the idea for what to do with the house blocks I've made! Not really wanting to make more, so this will work great. 🙂
