If you are new here welcome! Today I’m part of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks blog tour. This is my block.
One of my favorite things about designing and teaching is see how different the same pattern can look just by changing fabric and value. So I thought it would be fun to share my block done up in several colorways, First I tried it in black and white with a splash of red. I like how this makes it more sophisticated.
Next I tried the bright bold colors of Zen Chic’s For You. They are my favorite. This gives it a bright cheerful feel.
I also tried batiks by Pat Sloan, for an island feel.
Finally I took my original block and added sashing and corner posts fir a modern feel.
I believe the possibilities are endless. Multiply that by 100 blocks and your bucket list just grew exponentially. I have a magazine available as a prize to get you started.

I like the red and black the best! I bought some adorable red and black yardage to back a quilt and it's just waiting for the right one to come along!
I think I like the batiks best. Looks kind of like spring.
I like the black and white with the splash of red.
I love your block. I really liked the black and white layout with the splash of red. I could also see it with some different splash of lime green or some bright blues….oh so many ideas.

I like to see different colorways and I am drawn to the Gray, Red & Black quilt option.

Controlled scrappy is my choice, set with the sashing and cornerstones for orderliness. Oh, I know! Each block could be a different color of the rainbow! Hmmm, I will keep this in mind for next years rainbow quilt challenge!
I can see myself making it really scrappy, using the colours of your block at the top of the post. But using scraps of fabric to make it. Love it!

I think a red white and blue colorway would be great. QOV ideas are always great.
I really like the idea of going bright scrappy with a low volume print for the larger squares and a white or light grey for the background.
I'd do it in purple's and greens!
Love the block – could very easily be a stash buster for all the bright fall colors (red, yellow, orange)in my bin.
Brown background with plum and orangey-yellows? Sounds good in my head.
I'd love to see this block in batiks with purples and aquas.

I am really enjoying the blue/yellow/little bit of green combo right now!
I like the batik version – but I think it would work with scraps as well.
I think this would be a fantastic design to do fussy cutting with, in an ISpy fashion. I can just see lots of bug prints, trucks and monster's in a lot of places in the design.
I like the colors you used for you block, for mine I would use the primary colors of red, yellow blue and green with the black and white background. Thanks for sharing your idea.

I think I like the version with batiks best!
The first layout would fit into my "scrap reduction campaign" the best. I like this block and layout a great deal but have never used black to set off the scrappy colors.

I would go with really bright prints or solids on a black background.
I do like the black strips used here, but would probably go with bright rainbow colors as well. Black and grey would be cool, too, with a fussy cut floral in place of the white squares.
I would like to try aqua, lime green, navy, and white. I would go scrappy with lots of different prints in those colors.

being a scrap quilter myself, I would just have to do that one scrappy in brights on a dark background.

I like your original block version, but it looks nice in all of the examples.
I would use a scrappy version of your quilt as my scraps seem to be taking over my storage closet..your block would be wonderful using all of those beautiful pieces of fabric. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and your block with us.

I like the black, gray, white and red colorway, but I might try it in a green, purple, white and gold colorway.
I was drawn to the black, white and red quilt but really like the rainbow of colors too.
Oh I think it would look wonderful with a solid black background and lots of bright colored fabrics and sashing blocks.

I would try red, white, and blue. This is really an intriguing design. It looks fairly easy to make, but makes a complicated design.

I like the Zen Chick colors, but I think that I am truly a scrappy girl at heart and would be hitting my stash and just work with the same values rather than using the same fabrics.

I think I would do this block in bright colors and use the largest square as a place for an "I Spy" fabric — a cute quilt for a child.

Sorry for the delete and now the corrected response. I am partial to the 'sophisticated' color way. I love the classic color choices and that the design with these colors doesn't appear too busy for my eye.
I love the tutorial and saying. My colors are the black and white and I would add some red.
