Tuesday Tutorial~ 16 patch

I saw a quilt recently on pintrest that used a 16 patch. I really liked it and remembered that Sarahhad a series on 16 patches not to long ago.

One method used layer cake squares. You can find the tutorial here. I’m looking for the right layer cake to try this out.

She also showed a strip method. The tutorial is here. I’m using this method right now.

I had a fat eighth pack of black, white, red and gray I thought would work nicely. And since I’ve empty two project boxes recently with the finish of my Scrappy Bear Paws and Wonky Rose Garden. I felt pretty justified in starting a new project.

Thank you Sarah for your great tutorials.

I love 16-patch blocks. They are great for stash busting or to make a quick gift.

I am cutting for four St. Louis 16 Patch quilts now. I had a plethora of scrap pieces so I needed an easy project to cut and use them for. I have 2 projects per zip lock bag and they will go by my sewing machine to sew in between other projects.
