WAGI~ Vintage Spool Necklace

Welcome to another WAGI Wednesday.  Today’s great idea comes from Ashlee over at My So Called Crafty Life.  I thought these cute vintage spool necklaces would not only look lovely around your neck but also hanging from the boughs of your Christmas tree.  Ashlee tutorial is easy to follow and you should have most of the supplies on hand.  Giving new life to a few of your scraps and use up those little bits of ribbon on the end of those spools.  If you haven’t saved your spools I know you can find wood turnings that look like them at your local craft store.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.  I know I did.  My DD and I were joking we ate pie three times a day while we were at my parents.  Let me tell you it was all very yummy.  I think I get that from my grandpa who only liked two kinds of pie; hot and cold.  I know I said I would take a picture of my pies but I got busy and by the time I remembered they were gone.  So sorry.

If you are like me you have leftover turkey at your house.  Today’s recipe can help a little with that.  Because people in my family have not been feeling well I made a pot of Turkey Noodle Soup.  Here is my recipe:

Turkey Noodle Soup

4 cups broth

2 cups cut up turkey

2 carrots, sliced

2 celery stalks, cut up

2 onions chopped

2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tsp. basil

3 cups noodles

Combine everything but the noodles in crock pot.  Cook low 5-6 hours.  Turn crock pot to high about an hour before ready to serve and add noodles.  Cook until noodles are tender.  If you have leftover gravy you can add this also.

Hope you enjoy it.

The spool necklace is a good idea. I have lots of vintage spools both plain and with thread still on them.

The spool Christmas tree decoration is a great idea, that fits perfectly to us. Always travel and live in style, this has great style.
The recepie sounds good, have to try that.

I love the spools. Wouldn't they be cute on a liie sewing they tree? So funny about pie, I told my husband I could eat just pie for dinner. Doesn't matter what kind.

Thanks for the neat recipe, Em. For two weeks I've tried to figure out what "WAGI" means and I'm still clueless.

  • Nedra says:

Sounds like you had a yummy Thanksgiving!
