On Monday I had a mountain of laundry only slightly smaller than Everest. So I started bright and early. By nine I was putting my second batch in. By ten when I went to put the third batch in I had a problem. My washing machine was not spinning and the clothes were soaking wet. I called my sweetie and he told me he would look at it when he got home. So the laundry set. When hubby got home he and Alex looked at the washing machine. We had to get a part and that would have to wait until Tuesday since the parts store had closed. Tuesday Alex and I installed the part and we thought we were up and running until half way through the cycle the machine stopped completely. Grrr! So Tuesday night hubby and I went looking for a new machine. It will be here Saturday but I’m leaving today and needed to have clean clothes for my trip.
Needless to say I loaded all my laundry and headed for the laundromat. I filled 4 washers and worked on these oh so cute little flowers while my clothes washed. I brought my wet clothes home, cause at least my dryer works. And while my clothes dried I cut fabric so I would be ready for this weekend. I’m going to Utah Quilt Guild’s Quilt Fest. YEAH! My bags are packed, projects cut and ready to work one, and my oh so wonderful Featherweight is geared up for some serious sewing. Hope you have as much fun this weekend as I plan to have.
HAPPY SEWING!!!
I'm sorry that your machine decided to die on you but at least you managed to get to a laundromat.
Enjoy your trip. I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Love and hugs Gina xx
Have fun Emily !
You know, I love those little flowers. Completely adore them. Bummer about the Washing Machine but golly it happens, doens't it? Uh. Sounds though like you're about to have a grrrreat weekend. Yippie!!!
That happened to my machine and I had to buy another. Have fun at your retreat!

Have fun away..you deserve it…..love the flowers
Well at least you got in some lovely stitching time while at the laundromat Emily. And now you can shed any thoughts of laundry and think happy stitching thoughts – enjoy your stitching weekend lucky you. Ciao
Oh man, can I ever relate. My washer would not work when I got back from Chicago with a boatload of dirty clothes. The part needed was backordered for a week. Grrr. I went to dinner at my moms and came in with all my dirty clothes and washed them while we ate and visited. I, too, brought the wet ones home.
Hope you have a wonderful trip and get lots accomplished.
Why is it that washing machines always break down when we need them the most? I love your little flowers. Have a terrific weekend!
I love the way you turned an otherwise nasty situation into an opportunity to make some really cute flower blocks!
