I ate horrible this weekend. I let myself get too hungry Friday. So when I came from doing Jr. high carpool and found a plate of brownies on my doorstep. Let’s just say all will power was gone and I downed half the plate. Must say they were very good. On Saturday I was hungry at the grocery store so I just had to buy me a nut roll. (My favorite candy bar.) Sunday I ate 5 mini candy bars while watching conference with my family and a bowl full of rice pudding while we played Clue in the evening. Yes I was very naughty this weekend.
But the miracle is that I have not gained any weight. Makes me wonder what I would have lost if I had not been so naughty. Shame, shame on me.
I am still going to award a fat quarter this week. You should not have to pay for my naughtiness. Besides this little game has gone on long enough. The lucky winner is Diane of Crafty Diane. Diane let me know your sail mail address and which fat quarter you would like. Next week I will give away the remaining seven. So leave a comment here to earn a chance. Since there are seven left your chances should be pretty good.
Just to let you know I am not giving up on the weight loss. (I ran an extra mile on the elliptical this morning as penance for my sins.) Plan on doing that every morning until I head down to see my mom and dad. I just won’t be boring you with up dates each week. Perhaps I’ll have another give away when I reach my goal. Have a great day!
I’ll take my chances! Good luck with the rest…I’ve been bad lately too, time to get back on track! (hard with a yummy Easter meal right around the corner!)
I wish I would be as commited as you are.
Keep it going! π
i had a bad week last week too…didn’t eat right…it’s hard to make good meals when the hubby is gone…easier to grab something bad. today is a new week!
sounds like you know your triggers — being too hungry. That’s a significant part of the battle I think for if you don’t even know the problems, how can you avoid them? π
Sometimes ya eat crappy junk food and it doesn’t make any difference but don’t do it too often as it starts to show. I will continue to wish you well on your weight loss journey. It is tough to loose those last few pounds.
I’m not bored by your Monday posts but I understand. Change it up a little. π It’s been enjoyable to share something like this with you though. Hand-in-hand, *karendianne.
Perfectly understandable to keep the rest of your journey a little more private. Of course we’ll keep sending our thoughts and prayers your way.
I keep a meusli bar or a small handful of almonds (10 is a serve) in my bag along with a small water bottle to keep me going until I can get to healthy food. With my eating plan I get to/have to eat 5 times a day. Skipping a meal or a snack is simply not allowed! Although brownies are a food group all their own… I would have joined you had I found them on my doorstep…
Big Hugs!
Shari
Yes…brownies are a dangerous territory for me as well.
I watched conference as well…my son is Mormon, I am Methodist, my Mother is Baptist, my Dad was Jewish, my 14 y/o Daughter is Church of God, two others are Methodist, one is unsure about religion right now because she is a scientist (molecular biology), and the other two are Episcapal (sp?)…we obviously do not talk about religion at the table.
Keep up the hard work and I will so miss your weekly give aways!
Love #1
Don’t feel bad – I gained a pound this week when I was supposed to be losing. I’m blaming it on stress. π
Hang in there. You can do this, and I think the elliptical plan is a good one.
A nice little break-out and still lost weight – that’s the main thing! I guess back on track is the way to go – wish I could practice what I preach, I go well through the day then have a break-out most nights!
Hugs – Lurlineβ₯
You are not boring me with your weekly updates Em! We all know these things don’t happen over night, in a snap!!! The slower one looses, the longer you end up keeping it off in the long run… Stay the course you are on and you will do fine… π
Cheers! π
Well Em, we all fall off the wagon some times…but you are back on track again good girl, the extra on the elliptical is very good…I find that one of the hardest pieces of equipment…love all your fabric…
Don’t worry, we all have bad weeks! Chalk it up to experience. You learned and won’t repeat it this week, right??? If you stick to the elliptical and keep going with the diet, I bet you’ll see the scale move downward this week!
Sometimes you fall off the wagon but you do get back on. Thats what counts and you are losing weight! Love the fat quarters too.
Your attitude is great — so you fell of the wagon? Everyone does at one point or another, but you’re not letting that “oh, well, I did that so …” attitude creep in but are continuing on. That’s a great way to be — and the fact you didn’t gain any weight is a bonus!
Each day is a new day! Thank goodness π
The generous soul who left the brownies should have been kind and left a plate of carrot sticks instead! Good luck on the rest of your journey.
Sounds like you ate a lot of yummy food this weekend, but at least you didn’t gain anything! Your committed and that is all that matters!
Every day is a new one! I didn’t eat well last week either. Back to fruits and veggies this week!
Oh what a sugar high you must have been on! At least you did not gain any weight and you are back into the groove again.
Oh what it would be like to come home to brownies on the doorstep… I’m quite lucky that that never happens at my house… To get brownies I have to make brownies… Which usually involves more effort then I care to put into desert.
Keep working at the weight loss, it’s a tough battle that will obviously always have ups and downs but as long as you always pull yourself back up you’ll eventually achieve your goal.
Best of luck
Please keep on with the updates. Your perseverence is inspiring. Everyone can have an off day, it’s how you bounce back from that, that’s the main thing. If you can spot when food is creaping in- like at a certain activity or time of day, would changing your routine help- something like handsewing when waiting in the car for instance?
The trick is getting back on the plan once you fall off. And expect to fall off again. Don’t beat yourself up because of it, after all you’re just human. I’m struggling because I’m babysitting at my son’s house and they keep snacks of all kinds here all the time! But every day is a new day and I try once again. Sooner or later it will get easier. blessings, marlene
I just had a couple of Girl Guide cookies so I will be spending extra time at the gym this evening.
We all have our ups and downs it’s part of being human. Just realize what your triggers are and what sets things off like being too hungry and then hopefully you can minimize these in the future. Good luck with reaching your goal.
I agree with the others – we’re not bored with the updates! I would keep doing them, really!! It’s motivating to me:) I would have to give away a lot more fat quarters than you if I did it lol!!
Just keep at it and you’ll lose the weight! When you mess up and eat half a plate of brownies, just put it behind you and start over! YOU CAN DO IT!!! :0)
I’m depressed right now and that is NEVER good for my diet.
I am doing well though, I am down 16 lbs, but I have a feeling I will be up tomorrow because I was naughty today. Luckily I was able to talk my son out of making brownies because I would have ate half the pan and I don’t even like them.
I did drink 12 oz of kool aid though and had about four mini candy bars and scrambled eggs with cheese for lunch.
Hey, Em… we all have days/weeks when we are “bad”. The weight didn’t come on overnight, and it isn’t going to go off overnight.BUT… you know how to do this; you will make it. Life isn’t about a schedule, it is about living.
