Wild Goose Chase Block 4

It’s another Wild Goose Chase Wednesday.  I hope you are enjoying the chase.  First an overview of the steps.  I hope you don’t mind but I’m just giving cutting instructions for the geese.  After telling how to make them for three weeks it seems redundant to keep repeating that process if you need a refresher you can follow this link to the first block.

For this block you will need:

3- 3 1/2″ tall geese

3- 1 1/2″ tall geese

For the Nifty Notions that means cutting

from a 3 1/2″ strip 3- quarter square triangles for geese and 6- half square triangles for sky

and from a 1 1/2″ strip 3- quarter square triangles for geese and 6- half square triangles for sky

Without rulers cut

3- 3 1/2″x 6 1/2″ rectangles for geese and 6-3 1/2″ squares for sky

and 3- 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles for geese and 6- 1 1/2″ squares for sky

You will also need to cut:

2- 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles

2- 3 1/2″ squares

2- 2 1/2″x 1 1/2″ rectangles

2- 1 1/2″ squares

1- 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle

Using your 3 1/2″ tall geese sew a 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle to the left side of one

a 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle to the right side of another

and sew the third one between the 3 1/2″ squares.

Sew these rows together.

Next using your 1 1/2″ tall geese sew a 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle to the left side of one

a 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle to the right side of another

and sew the 1 1/2″ squares to either side of the last one.

Sew these rows together.

Sew the 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle to the left side of these geese.

Sew this row to the top of your other rows.

Your block is done.

Good job!  See  you next week.  Some of you may of go a sneak peek.  I’m going to be out of next week and got the post ready last night.  I must have set up the wrong day.  It’s fixed now and will be back next week.  Sorry for the confusion.
