Wish Come True

My wish that started as just and folly came true yesterday. I was not seriously wishing that we would have a snow day so we could stay home and sew. Nevertheless yesterday it snowed here and after filling the crock pot with chicken soup, had a sick hubby and a couple of sick kids. I retreated to my sewing room to play. This stacked coin quilt was the result. I still need to add the top and bottom border. But I feel pretty good about what I was able to accomplish. I had seen this one on flickr and wanted one of my own. Then I was lucky enough to find this fun stripe for the back and binding.

Hoping to get it basted, quilted, and bond soon. So I can enjoy snuggling under it.

Did it snow where you live? Were you able to find a few hours of happy sewing? If so what were you able to create?

A cold nasty rain. But after cleaning up my kitchen and a quick trip to the store I'm going actually sit down and sew. LOve the new quilt. I love the fabrics and the grey with the brights, so pretty.

I'm liking that grey and the border or binding stripe is just right. Very nice. Cheerfully springlike.

It's a grey day so I enjoyed tea and scones with a friend. Love the grey with the brights and the striped binding is perfect.

Glad that you got the weather you so enjoy. Your day was so productive and it turned out beautifully.

Hope the family is on the road to recovery.

It was 82* yesterday and suppose to be a few degrees warmer today – my idea of a perfect day too.

Sorry about the sickness, but at least you redeemed the day! Will they be set stacked like that?

Lots of snow Em! But the good thing is when you are sewing up a storm inside, who care what is going on outside?
Shoved the snow, had some good laughs with the family and did lots of sewing!
Love your scrappy coin quilt and the quilt show in the previous post!

  • Karen says:

I have been planning a coin quilt in my mind for a couple months now. Hope to get it soon.

I don't know if a snow day at home with a sick family would be fun but you certainly made the best of it.
