Quick Easy Plus block Tutorial & Inspiration

Here is why you should add the quick and easy plus block to your next scrap busting project. First, the blocks are fast and fun to make. Inspiration

Before we get started creating the fun plus block. Let’s get your creative juices flowing. Here are a couple of quilts that were created with this cute little block. First up, after sharing a trick on pulling fabric for your next scrap quilt. With the fabric already pulled it was easy to make a quilt. Just run it through the Go cutter and the 2″ finished strip die. The Go cutter makes cutting out a quilt super easy. I use it all the time to get my scraps into usable pieces. For someone who hates cutting it’s a must have! Here is the bin of cut up fabric with a single block made. In a few hours of happy sewing, the bin scrappy pieces became this quilt.

This next quilt also came from the scrap bins. First, various blue and gray scraps were pulled for a background. Why use one fabric when you can use many? A scrappy background just makes my heart sing. Second yellows, reds, and greens were gathered to create the plus blocks. Just a little something to give the quilt a little POP! How To

To get started making the quick easy plus block you will need 2- 2 1/2″ squares and 1- 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle from your plus fabric. You will also need 4- 2 1/2″ squares from your background fabric. These pieces can be cut from leftover jellyroll strips. It’s a great way to use up those leftover bits. Now here’s a tutorial.
