I recently traveled to the beautiful state of North Dakota. There I taught to the Dakota Prairie quilts how to use the tiniest fabric scraps. All the quilters showed up with boxes, bags and bins full of fabric scraps. Someone even brought a bin to share with everyone. Then the fun began.
I loved seeing the scraps dumped onto tables.
It was delightful to watch the creative process as pieces were sewn together.
The room buzzed with friendly chatter as the sewing machines hummed. 
I watched as experienced quilters watched over the beginning quilters to ensure their success.
It didn’t take log before lovely crumb fabric began to appear.
The joy on the quilters faces was evident as they showed off their colorful crumb blocks.
Crumb Quilt blocks began to pile up in anticipation of becoming a Twist and Shout quilt form my Crumb Quilts book.
In addition other quilters choose to turn theirs into circles to applique. Like I did in my Loose Change and Over the Rainbow quilts. Also found in my Crumb quilts book. 
In addition to the crumb quilt class, I taught my Jumbo Scrappy Star design class. I can barley wait to see how Kathy’s quilt turns out. Her molted solid scraps and black background with pops of color are stunning.
Kathy was so excited about her design. She sent me a picture of her finished top shortly after the class. Isn’t it stunning!?
