Theme
The theme this month is back to school. As a child I remember going shopping for new school clothes with my mom and then getting to go out to lunch with her. I carried this tradition on with my kids when they were little. It was fun to get new clothes. I think planning what I would wear the first day was almost as fun. So for my block I designed three children in their new school clothes on the first day of school.
Method
I had fun thread stitching my students on the foreground of my block. It is the same method I used with my It Takes a Village and Sugar and Spice patterns. Find smooth beautiful thread to create your thread stitching. A dark brown is my favorite. It gives a softer touch. I’ve created a little video tutorial on this method if you are interested.
