I had a delightful time meeting so many delightful quilters as I taught the Modern Gems quilt pattern on a cruise recently. Many thanks to Stitchin’ Heaven for hosting me. Dana and Dawn were so helpful. I enjoyed the beach, shopping, a tour of St. Thomas and a thrilling zipline ride. Plus I met the most amazing quilters.
What to Expect
Let me tell you about what you can expect. On the first day you will meet the teachers and be given a sewing station, complete with your own sewing machine and a swag bag full of goodies. This is where you will sew for the entire cruise. No need to move between classes. The teachers will come to you. The sewing room is open 24/7. Feel free to sew as much or as little as you like. On days at sea the teachers will teach their classes and be available to answer questions.

There are kits available with pre-cut pieces so your ready to sew. Or feel free to cut your own, like Nancy and Sheryl did.
I enjoyed watching everyone’s quilt come together.

More things to do
When you are not sewing you are free to enjoy all that the ship has to offer. The music on the ship was great. As were the shows. I especially enjoyed the water show. The line dancing lessons were a fun way to enjoy a little free time. My husband and I also had fun visiting the various islands when we were in port. If you are looking for an all inclusive getaway with lots of time to quilt. You definitely want to check out a quilting cruise.
