My son, Josh’s wedding is less than a week away. Time to make sure the wedding quilt is finished.
Thankfully Josh and Alexa wanted a green quilt. The green scrap bin tends to fill up faster than other bins. After pulling a nice mix I got busy cutting. In fact, I turned the processes into a workshop. In case you would like to make your own Jumbo Scrappy Star. But it’s only available through June. Don’t miss out!
Once the top was created it was time for a little free motion quilting. I thought I could just do dogwood leaves among the scrappy squares. But felt there was too much open space in the middle of the square. So I added some spirals.
Going forward with the spiral theme I added smaller spiral swirls in the background.
To finish it all off I added a scrappy green binding. I have an easy tutorial for a scrappy binding. Just incase you would like to add one to your next quilt. I think they are fun. Plus any way I can make a dent in the scrap bins I consider a win.
So with less than a week for the blessed day. The wedding quilt is done.
Now for what you are probably waiting for. The winner of last weeks giveaway for the magazine with the baby quilt is Karin. She said, “I am in the process of making my first ever baby quilt, funnily enough also stars, but not as nice as yours…I love to win the pattern… :-))” Congratulations Karin! So happy for you!
This is a lovely wedding quilt, I’m sure the newlyweds are very pleased and happy with the special quilt.
