Scrap Busting Star Challenge

Today kicks off my Scrap Busting Challenge.  For the month of January we will be letting our scraps shine in these Scrap Busting Stars.  Make one or many.  Share your progresson my Facebook community.

I chose to do my scrappy centers in low volume prints.  I could barely put a lid on that bin.  This little project helped me out.  The lid not only fits!  I have an inch of head room!  Now that’s a miracle!

For this project you will need lots of 1 1/2″ strips.  3 1/2″ x 20″ for star points and 3 1/2″ x wof for background.  Using the Essential Triangle Tool cut 8- half square triangles for your star points.  and 4 quarter square triangles for background along with 4- 3 1/2″ squares. You can also easily cut this out with your Accuquilt Go cutter and the 1 1/2″ strip cutter and the 12″ Cube dies 2, 4, and 5.

Watch my Scrap Busting Star tutorial to create your own beautiful stars.

If you subscribe to my newsletter you will also have access to a printable PDF of this pattern.

Here’s what I have so far.  Hoping to have it as a top today for my Facebook live at 3 pm Mountain time.  This will happen on my Facebook community.  Join the group so you don’t miss out. Bluprint’sall you can watch week is still going on now through the 7th.  Don’t miss out! Be sure to check out Fat Quarter Shop’s Flash sale.  They may have something you can’t live without.  I often buy the sale item.  Then look through the rest of their shop to fill my cart so I get free shipping.  It’s so much better to pay for fabric than shipping.
