School started today in our area. This time of year brings mixed feelings. I love stocking up on school supplies; crayons, markers, glue sticks, and composition books. (I especially like to pick up the composition books that have graph paper inside.) I thought it was pure genius that Fat Quarter Shophad Riley Blake’s Solids as their basic of the month. They are like crayons for quilters. Of course I had to stock up on a few of these pretty colors.
I love how they pop in Sunshine on a Cloudy Day.
Solids can make a bold quilt. Mix them with prints like I did in the reproduction quilt. |

Or as an accent like in my Citrus Spin.
Whatever quilt you choose solids make a lovely addition.

I bought some too – I never seem to have solids but I bought Kona material on sale, I believe it was last month from FQS. I am seriously considering making a two-color quilt for a challenge.
Loved your post today! Color is always so inspiring!
I LOVE that Sunshine quilt. The solids are exciting in a quilt.
My favorite is the bold quilt.
