Larger than a coaster, but smaller than a placemat they are a perfect way to use up scraps. Giving you the opportunity to mix and match fabrics from previous projects. I went with a bird, bumblebee, dragonfly, butterfly, and a snail.
I like to make mug rugs for several reasons. First they are a quick finish. Sometimes you need a quick win. Next they let me play with my favorite toy, my scraps. A third reason is they add a bit of whimsy to my decor. Finally they make a nice gift and are fun to exchange with friends.
Uses for Mug Rugs
